Animate a film in “48 Hours”  to WIN a $10,000 Prize

The 7th Annual ASIAGRAPH Reallusion Award final 48 Hours LIVE Contest was held this year in Taipei, Taiwan.

Creating an animation film in 48 hours used to be an almost impossible task, but not anymore thanks to real-time animation tools that have broken all the barriers when it comes to filmmaking. Ever since the contest evolved into a LIVE animation event, it has swept the 2D and 3D animation world in Asia with its charm.

Prior to the competition, the 2017 ASIAGRAPH Reallusion Award ran in 13 cities at China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan.

48 Hours LIVE Animation Events – Country Winners got Flight Tickets to the Final Contest


China hosted the biggest country round in 5 cities – Beijing, Guangzhou, Jilin, Shanghai, Sichuan

China was a huge participant in the event, thanks to the support of the Previs Society Asia, CPPA (China Post Production Alliance) and Base FX, as it gathered  234 participants from all over China to compete for the final winning spots.

Thailand hosted a grand country round in DHURAKIJ PUNDIT University 

The Thailand country round attracted 100 promising participants eager for the final seats. Two outstanding teams got their tickets.

The Indonesia country round gathered 147 participants who competed for the final spots

After intense 48 hours competitions, two winning teams stood out. They were ready for the Taiwan final contest!

The Malaysia country round hosted in a grand venue with over 50 teams

Some of the participants even composed music for the animation film.

The Japan  and Taiwan country rounds also took to the challenge of creating an animation film in 48 hours 

 At the end, 19 final teams got their tickets to the 48Hrs FINAL CONTEST in Taipei.

Congratulations, to all the finalists! Welcome to Taiwan, Taipei.

The final contestants battled it out bringing all their skills to win the honor, a US$10,000 Cash prize, scholarship subsidies from the VANCOUVER FILM SCHOOL, and a Faceware facial motion capture system!

The Opening Ceremony at National Taiwan University of Arts had a very warm welcome from hosts, guests, faculty, students, and participants.
