80 Level published Nick Pearce’s amazing story on how he started as a lawyer, and turned full-time game developer.
Here are some interesting quotes from the story-
I was told it would cost thousands of dollars to model and rig each character. I was also told it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to create facial motion capture animations for each line of dialogue in our game. I began looking at alternative solutions. I was really happy to discover Reallusion’s Character Creator 3 (CC3) and iClone, which have allowed us to create gorgeous character models and animate them for a fraction of the cost of the traditional approach.

Game development is far more complex and time-consuming than most people can possibly imagine, particularly the process of modelling and rigging believable human characters. Software that can streamline this process, and make your life easier, is invaluable.

Before developing games, Nick worked as a legal and strategy advisor to a multi-billion dollar tech company.
Eventually Nick set into making The Forgotten City, by using Character Creator 3, iClone 7 and Unreal Engine, allowing him to win an Australian National’s Writer Guild Award, a 2018 Unreal UnderDog Award, and an Unreal Dev Grant among others.
“I was told it was going to cost a fortune. – That it was going to be about a $500,000 to record the high-quality facial motion capture animations for about 2,000 lines of dialogue. Fortunately, I discovered Character Creator 3 and iClone 7, and was able to create our own facial motion capture animations for about 1% of the cost of traditional facial motion capture.”
I am Tobe. A songwriter, videographer, editor, producer and creative head of the successful children music project “Frank and his Friends” from Germany.
I dedicate myself fully to the musical and visual ideas of the show. So I needed to quickly animate our cartoon version without much effort. Since I do not have the time to fiddle around and read manuals, I came across Reallusion and their CrazyTalk and iClone software Anyone, who has ever tried other programs, knows how much work and computing power would be required to create an animated show, but by comparison, Reallusion has made it relatively easy for me.
DAZ User Harnesses Character Animation with iClone
CGSociety covers the story on how indie filmmaker/3D artist – Solomon W. Jagwe created his solo film NaEEXUS in 30 days by using DAZ3D Content and Character Creator 3 (CC3).
“I was able to create the film in the space of 1 month. This was made possible by the awesome 3D models and characters, that I used from the DAZ3D marketplace which are very well textured and rigged. I didn’t have to model any of the characters or environments. The character animation was made possible by the iClone Motion Live and iPhone Face Mocap plugins, together with Character Creator 3 (CC3).”
2018 was a great year for us at Reallusion, as it saw the maturation of iClone’s Motion LIVEmocap platform, along with the much anticipated release of Character Creator 3 for indie game developers, movie filmmakers, AR / VR creators, and animators alike.

My name is Ferenc Vincze, and I am a freelance animator and videographer. I was originally born and raised in Hungary, but am currently living in Germany. My profession is Agricultural Engineering, and I have made animations and short films since 2004.
I’ve learned communication technology and I have been working as a freelancer for 6 years. I made several broadcast designs for local television channels, produced experimental short films and 3D animations until I founded my own business called Rendered-frames.com, where I use iClone‘s animation suite, with motion capture, and Character Creator.
