MARC ARNAUD
Marc Arnaud is a Reallusion Certified Cartoon Animator Trainer who has progressed beyond using the 2D animation software for his own purposes to educating and training individuals and also larger companies on how best to apply the animation software for their needs.
In this interview Marc discusses the ways he shares his own extensive knowledge of CTA to use in order to help others and build his business brand.

Q: Hello Marc, and welcome! Kindly tell us about the work you’re doing with Cartoon Animator.
I have been using CrazyTalk Animator 3, and now Cartoon Animator for six years now and my work is divided in to several themes. First is the creation of “advertising cartoons” for my clients which includes companies and freelancers. With increased productivity and a more impactful and original result, 2D cartoon advertising is a great alternative to motion design. Here is an example of my advertising cartoons:

And finally, I am involved in the promotion and sale of Cartoon Animator and its content to French-speaking users. To facilitate this I have translated the online manuals of Reallusion into French. All this keeps me very busy indeed. This is all available from my shop.
Q: Could you share with us why you chose to use Cartoon Animator as the platform to create your content?
Quite simply because in my opinion, Cartoon Animator is the most advanced animation software for creating 2D animated videos without necessarily knowing how to draw. I also appreciate the determination with which Reallusion strives to always bring new possibilities and real added value to the animation software.
What I like about Cartoon Animator is the ease with which you can create character animation, give it the desired expression (with or without Motion Live), and export a whole sequence (while keeping the transparencies) to external post production software such as FinalCutX in order to add effects like shadows, blurs and more. For the creation of digital sets, I often use iClone 7 and capture images in PNG format which correspond to several camera axes that I will adapt in Cartoon Animator.
Q: Based on your work, what is your favourite genre or theme to work with?
I don’t have any specific favourite themes, I like to go from “cartoon advertising” for my clients, to filmed songs, to comedy films on a personal basis. I adapt to the demands of my clients and work on a wide variety of subjects such as coaching, automotive, real estate, prevention and more.
Q: In your experience, do you find the process of creating characters and content for Cartoon Animator easy and enjoyable?
Creating content is not something I do. I find that a lot of talented graphic designers already offer interesting content which is readily available in the 2D Marketplace.
Q: What advice would you have for inspiring developers looking to break into the Reallusion Marketplace and sell their content?
When creating sets like landscapes and environments, my advice would be to create sets with multiple layers, allowing animators to create a depth to their scenes and vary the environments for character animations. The same applies to character animation development, with a need for variations of angles, especially the one seen from the back.
Q: Our audience always loves to know more; do you have plans for future content in the works?
I am in the process of refining the animated video which I will present to the next Reallusion Cartoon Animator Animation @Work contest. After being awarded the 3rd prize in 2018 and then the 2nd prize in 2020 for “The Mules” entry. I hope to take out first place in the next event.
Q: Please share with us what advantages do you find Cartoon Animator gives you?
Cartoon Animator first provides me with a professional tool that allows me to offer my clients an alternative to motion design by presenting them with “Cartoon advertising”. Then, the partnership with Reallusion ensures me regular income.
Q: And Finally, what projects have you most recently been working on?
I have invested a lot recently in training and I have just completed a session lasting several days for the “3Sheds” training center in Switzerland.
It is an important center which has purchased 50 licenses and which, convinced of the effectiveness of Cartoon Animator, will very quickly become a benchmark in the field of education.
Placed in the heart of Europe, I am sure that it will quickly become a Reallusion Authorized Center and will be able to provide training. I am very proud to have contributed to this prospect
