GDC 2019 is a wrap, but our efforts continue at Reallusion!
Thanks for joining us at GDC 2019, whether we saw you at the show or you followed our news during the event. We especially enjoyed meeting so many developers and seeing our friends and partners through what was a great week for games in San Francisco.
Thanks to 80 Level’sEditor in Chief –Kirill Tokarev for interviewing Reallusion’s Product Marketing VP – John Martin, and talking about iClone and Character Creator 3 tools that were used in the movie REPLICAS.
“Replicas is a new milestone for us and for anyone who has been watching the trend of game tools being adapted by filmmakers.
iClone operates at almost zero latency, [allowing] directors, cinematographers and VFX folks to try out numerous lighting and staging options without slowing down production or driving up the cost. The secret is a real-time engine, combined with an easy-to-use facial morphing and lip-syncing solution that interfaces with most motion capture systems.”

Cartoon Animator Review by Garry Pye
My name is Garry Pye and I have been involved with CrazyTalk Animator as both an animator and a content developer since version one of the software. What drew me to CrazyTalk Animator was the ease with which I was able to start animating almost immediately, yet it offered me a professional level of tools that would grow with me as my skills improved.
Here is a work-in-progress video of some of the features that will be available in Cartoon Animator 4:

SPARCKMAN is a well-known YouTuber who has an entire channel dedicated to animated parodies, original comedy sketches, and gaming video tutorials. Recently he has created a series of YouTube tutorials, on how he creates quick 2D assets for use inside Game Maker 2 with the help of CrazyTalk Animator 3.
Now Sparckman’s tutorials are not just informative, but also short. As in under 5 minutes-short. This is possible thanks to CrazyTalk’s extensive library of pre-made content, which by the way is 100% royalty free for any game developers that wish to use them in their commercial games.
I am Tobe. A songwriter, videographer, editor, producer and creative head of the successful children music project “Frank and his Friends” from Germany.
I dedicate myself fully to the musical and visual ideas of the show. So I needed to quickly animate our cartoon version without much effort. Since I do not have the time to fiddle around and read manuals, I came across Reallusion and their CrazyTalk and iClone software Anyone, who has ever tried other programs, knows how much work and computing power would be required to create an animated show, but by comparison, Reallusion has made it relatively easy for me.
3D World Magazine featured REPLICAS behind-the-scenes story in issue #244, on how Reallusion tools empowered the VFX crew, director and movie producers to collaborate and rapidly create the visual effects for – REPLICAS, the latest sci-fi thriller film starring Keanu Reeves.

“To be able to comp the iClone postviz of the robot directly into the actually filmed plates, really made it possible to design the sequences and also preview the film for a test audience to get their early impressions.”
Award-winning animator Damien Valentine (DarthAngelus) uses Reallusion’s iClone, and Noitom’s Perception Neuron suits to create motion captured animated films – The Chronicles of Humanity – which he publishes on Amazon Prime Video.

“Thanks to iClone and Character Creator, I was able to make Chronicles of Humanity look like a professional, big budget production from the comfort of my home. I can recommend the software to any Indie animators looking to achieve the same with their projects.”
