Creative Creature Catcher is a beautifully painted, enamoring book where Captain Malcolm Taylor reads to your children, while creatures pop out of the pages, interact with them, play games, and learn all about the creatures through a mobile app that adds a whole new level of engagement, problem solving, and activity for your child.

Philipp Reichling

My name is Phil, I am 30 years old and I from Germany. As long as I can remember, I have always used Computers, since DOS. (of course the main reason was to play video games.) I don’t remember when was the first time I tried to change something in a game, but I remember that I was young  and I was hooked even though I failed at many modding projects.

I decided to study 3D modelling for about 1.5 years. Eventually I started working on our game – Photonic Distress after meeting my colleague Irakli Gagnidze on the UE4 Marketplace. We checked YouTube videos and we saw a Character Creator (CC) video. As tired as we were, we decided to risk it and we bought Character Creator and iClone 7. It took us a while to get the results we wanted, but finally our game was filled with CC Characters!

“I was not happy with the final character results of Mixamo Fuse because the faces weren’t unique enough. Then we discovered Character Creator.” – Philipp Reichling

Post Magazine Review: Reallusion’s Motion LIVE mocap platform

POST

Independent film director/animator Solomon W. Jagwe reviewed Reallusion’s new Motion LIVE mocap platform, and how it helped him achieve multiple animation goals within a short time, all within the confines of a limited budget!

Solomon used a Perception Neuron 2.0 motion capture suit together with an iPhone X as motion capture hardware by simultaneously connecting them with iClone. This gave Solomon the freedom to act out the different parts of his characters, while creating banks of animations that he can could later reuse for his new, animated children’s TV series – The Adventures of Nkoza & Nankya

Zombie Music Video Features Unity Store Content in iClone Realtime Animation

Animated projects often involve lots of content that not just have to look good, but also have to render well. For this reason, it is imperative to know where to acquire the proper 3D content. Luckily iClone is compatible with assets from many 3D marketplaces.

Director Jason J. Brown is a well-known iClone artist, and fan, that is credited with iClone animated music projects like the the Mood Indigo music video. This time he shares with us, the Zombie Angel Poetry Slam (by TUK) video, where he chroma keyed live actor footage and combined it with Unity Asset Store scenery and props, inside iClone’s realtime 3D engine.

“I think this is a major turning point in scene assembly because the Unity Marketplace is MASSIVE – and every item is packaged in a standardized way that iClone can handle.” – Jason J. Brown

Animation Studio Visualizes Realtime Motion Capture with OptiTrack and iClone Motion LIVE

Animation Studios often capture actor performances inside plain canvases with the use of  generic characters, making it difficult to visualize the final scene and make corrections if necessary. But thanks to iClone’s Motion LIVE system, production studios now have the power to immerse their performers into 3D environments in real-time, helping them get a sense of the atmosphere and demands that the project requires.

See how Florida-based animation studio — Monkey Chow Productions has learned to employ bleeding edge technology to perfect and lightspeed animation production thanks to iClone’s realtime animation.

Character Creator 3 releases with ZBrush, Daz3D, Iray and InstaLOD workflow

A Universal 3D Character Creation Platform for Animation, Game, AR and VR

Reallusion delivers Character Creator 3 Pipeline (CC3) and Iray Render Plug-in. A breakthrough in universal character creation, connecting industry-standard character solutions into one system for 3D character generation, rendering and gamification.

CC3 is a dynamic character creation system with a process to choose a highly-morphable base, morph and shape face and body, mix morphs, choose clothing, accessories and rapidly design stylized or realistic 3D characters, already set up for face and body animation.

The latest features added to Character Creator 3 include a quad-based mesh, ZBrush compatibility with GoZ, subdivision and gamification with InstaLOD, along with Iray rendering. CC3 also connects industry-leading sources for 3D character content from external 3D libraries thanks to the Transformer feature, a tool to automatically convert Daz Genesis, Poser M4 / V4, and HiveWire assets from vast content libraries, into animation-ready characters for use in iClone or other 3D applications.
